Like: Hire desk easy to find just after carousal, friendly and helpful guy on the desk. Less than 5 mins walk to pick up car which was on the airport – however the walk is not covered so you are exposed to all the elements! Car was easy to find there was more damage on it than advised, I would recommend that you check just to be on the safe side and as not to incur further costs, although this was quickly resolved by the staff on site and we were on our way!! Same on return quick and easy drop off.
Dislike: That the car had more damage than stated on the paperwork originally provided - this should be more accurate

Dislike: The car. It was a Smart for four. It was horrible to drive. Very noisy very slow. Its actually a Renault Twingo with a smart badge on it. Even for a Renault it was bad !!

Quick, smooth, couldn’t have been easier

Under 5 mins to go through the paperwork and pick up the car at the airport. Staff were friendly and took us through all the options. Car was a new Citroen C1 which provided ample space for the two of us. Drop off also only took 5 minutes.

On pick up the fuel gauge was not at the top. I filled the car the day before drop off and noticed when full the gauge does not go to the top. On the day of return I topped the cars fuel to full at a garage that was 10 miles away from the drop off( I have the receipt with date and time and garage). The gauge did not go to the top after filling again. Budget charged my card £16 when I returned home. I will be making a complaint to budget on Tuesday and will probably not use budget again.

Used budget loads of times and always been happy with the service and vehicle. Unfortunately this time the car window had been left slightly open, the car wasn't overly clean and was parked touching another car. Not the usual standard

The car was not in the same class I had booked. It was dirty and had lots of scratches and a wheel trim missing and was nothing like the pictures on the website. when I complained they said it was all available and because I did'nt book direct with them I had no other choice but to upgrade and pay extra for a decent car. In My opionion this was disgusting and told them so.

Counter staff were rude and unhelpful. Don't accept deposits being paid for by car, force you to pay for additional insurance as a solution and don't give you money back for original insurance that you paid for. Would recommend not hiring a car through them.

The car was fine. It is a noisy model - conversation is not really possible when driving. I was very shocked that an additional driver was going to virtually double the price so we were left with one person having to do all the driving. This seems unreasonable since only one person can drive at a time so the risk is not doubled.

All very smooth. Had problem with my credit card during the day as I couldn't remember pin. They listened to my problem professionally at all times.

We hired from Belfast airport. Check in was fine and they had our details to hand. We were a little surprised that there would be extra insurance if we travelled into Republic of Ireland (something that should be covered at booking). There was the option to take it then or call and arrange if needed. We declined. The car itself was a disappointment. We had booked a Ford Focus. We know they can substitute for an equivalent but the car we were given C3 Aircross was a poor substitute. At the check in desk we did not know what this was like. From the outside it looks ok but driving it wasn't great. It was underpowered (1.2 petrol), poor suspension (bottomed out on some N. Ireland roads), cheap plastic interior and uncomfortable rear seats. It may have been fine for 2 people but not for a family of 5. We had chosen a Focus as my family is 5 adults and as we have one in the family at home we knew it would be ok for the 6 days we would be there. Although on paper they may think C3 Aircross was an equivalent, it did not feel like it. Had I known more about the car at check in I would have declined. I know in future to check more details if offered an equivalent e.g. engine size, dimensions. At the check in desk they said the car had no marks on it and the yellow slip was clear. On arrival at the car park we found small scratches on the rear bumper (from bags) and on the rear door (see photos) and small marks on some of the alloy wheels. We found a Budget rep. and got this noted on the yellow slip so we were not billed for this at the end. The front tyres were legal but not far from the wear indicators. (Make sure you check the car & tyres on arrival at the carpark.) Handing back the car was easy. There was a representative there and it took just a few minutes for them to check the car over and hand the keys back. No need to return to the desk in the terminal.

Budget were fine

Counter staff helpful. Car more spacious than we thought it would be. Comfortable car and ran smoothly. All very efficient. The power of the car engine was less good than we hoped.

Not very personable at the Budget desk seemed to be going through a script. Three guys on the desk so not as if they are rushed off their feet, be a bit more customer friendly.

Really easy to pick up and drop off, friendly staff, nice car. Will book again.
