Sicily-By-Car Car Rental

Called them from the airport and they picked us up really quickly. Got to the rental office fast, paperwork was done in no time, insurance was explained very clearly—felt really trustworthy!

I have to say, overall service from Sicily by Car was really solid. Pick-up and drop-off were both super convenient. I originally planned to return the car the night before my flight, but ended up changing it to 7:30 the next morning instead. When I pulled into the parking lot, staff were already there, and the inspection was quick and professional. They didn’t try to make things difficult just because I had a flight to catch right after. Big thumbs up for that!

The car was really clean and tidy, and they were even open on a rare free weekend, which I really appreciated.

Hardly any people in line, so pickup was super quick. The car wasn’t the exact model I booked, but I added the full coverage from the rental company and the whole process was smooth as silk. They only took a 100 deposit, and when I returned the car they just checked the spare tire and fuel gauge and I was done.

They did try to upsell a bit, but nothing pushy or uncomfortable.

They set us up with a BYD and I was really happy with it—great on fuel, basically brand new, local rental company, full coverage through the rental, and the inspection was super smooth, they barely even checked the exterior.

SICILY is great, this is my second time renting from them. I booked an Alfa Romeo but got a MG HZ instead, and it actually drove really well—smart features, even a fatigue alert system. I’d recommend just getting the full coverage at the rental desk; it’s about €100 more per day than QEEQ, but it’s worth it for the peace of mind: drop off the keys and you’re done.

Fantastic experience. When picking up the car there was zero hard sell or extra pushy add-ons. Returning it was super straightforward too—they just checked the fuel gauge and that was it. The car already had about 80,000 km and plenty of existing scratches, so I’d even prepared to film everything as proof, but the staff simply said everything was fine, no new damage, no need to worry. Really impressed.

The car was practically brand new and super clean! Got a Peugeot 308 you can’t even find back home—great on gas and still feels premium. The staff guy tried to upsell their insurance, but you can just show him the coverage you already booked on the platform and it’s fine.
