Thrifty Car Rental with Van

Picking up the car was super easy, even really early in the morning there was staff on duty to help. I’ve rented through QEEQ many times and I’m always very satisfied! Sometimes the staff at the rental counter are almost a little too enthusiastic, but in a good way.

They kept trying to upsell extra insurance, which was pretty annoying.

The service here is absolutely top‑notch, as you’d expect from Thai staff.

Right after you walk out from baggage claim and turn around, it’s right there, and QEEQ’s email instructions were spot on.

Staff were friendly and handled everything pretty quickly.

You only need really basic English to get everything done.

When I went to pick up the car they told me there were no Focuses left and told me to just pick something from the last row. Turned out there were no cars there at all. After a while a K4 and a Soul showed up, so I went straight for the K4. The next day the maintenance light came on, so I drove it back to swap cars. No more K4s—only a Suzuki or even smaller cars. After I filed a claim they finally agreed to give me a K5. Got stopped once as I was driving it out of the garage, but after that everything went through fine.

We landed in Queenstown pretty late, around 9:30 pm, but everything was still super smooth. The car drove really well and both pickup and drop-off were very convenient. The rental counter is right by the airport exit, sharing the same area with Hertz. The lady who helped us was really nice, processed everything quickly, and even reminded us to bundle up because it was freezing outside.

Pickup and return were both super efficient! At pickup, the staff patiently walked me through everything, even highlighting the key parts of the contract so I felt totally at ease about renting. When I returned the car, I just handed over the keys and contract and was good to go. The staff were all smiles, assured me the inspection would follow standard procedures, and even showed me how to get out of the area. Top-notch service, excellent car condition—honestly one of my best rental experiences. Thrifty will be my go-to from now on, the value for money is unbeatable!

Very professional service, super friendly and really patient. The only downside was they didn’t remind me about paying for parking. Paying for parking in the UAE is a bit of a hassle—my credit card payment kept failing, and I ended up having to go to a supermarket to change some cash just to get it done.
