All licenses issued in the European Union are accepted.
Driver's licences from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if you have a visa in your passport and at the time of rental have not been in Europe for longer than 6 months. If your domestic driving licence is printed with non Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic etc), an International Driving Permit (IDP/IDL) or an official translation in English is required together with your driver's license when you drive in Switzerland.
To drive in Switzerland, the driver must present a valid national driver's license that has been held for at least 1 or 2 years (according to different car rental company). The minimum age to drive in Italy is 20 years old (age may vary by car category).

The staff at pick was extremely nice, we had 4 large luggage, so we booked VW - Tiguan which showed around 600 lit boot space, but as a similar car was promised, they gave us AUDI Q3, which had a slightly smaller boot space, but the person tried to arrange for another car, but as it could have taken time, he helped us with storing the luggage in the same car. It could show how much effort and pain he was willing to take to make our experience seamless. I am really grateful to him, this trip could never have been possible without that gentleman's held. Thanks to him, Europcar and Qeeq.
We didn't realise we had to check in at the desk in the airport first of all, as in Spain when there is a shuttle bus you normally don't need to check in at the airport. We just got the shuttle back and checked in at the airport. We will know next time!
Staff were very friendly and efficient, we got a free upgrade and the car was outstanding for our family journey to the mountains in France. They were also very helpful when my husband and child left items in the car and we got them back.
We also got a phone call a few days in to check all was OK with the car.
What I liked: I like the service provided by Ms Rim Rebai at the Alamo counter at Geneva airport for the followings:
1. Considerate to check with me if I have already had my own accident insurance, I need not buy additional policy from Alamo.
2. Offered me a new Hyundai Tucson from a Seat Arona as it was not available on-line yet without having to sound pushy.
3. Offered me her work email contact in case I could not get through the emergency contact to address my concern.
4. She was even able to help me with my SIM card issue by referring me to the Lycamobile kiosk within the airport when I had a connection problem.
5. The new SUV has many safety features and is amazingly easy to drive. It provided me and my family members a safe ride for our 18-days trip in Switzerland and France. I am glad I chose this upgrade.
What I did not like about:
1. The new car did not have an English language manual. The staff at carpark P51 also could not locate the English version but he was helpful to help me with my queries about some new operating features with the car.
2. The car did not have floor mats which made cleaning difficult upon returning.
3. I had a punctured tyre at Obergoms on the 19 Nov 2022 but had problems contacting Alamo Tel. number +410848445522 and +410800440066 from 1129hrs to 1218hrs. It was only when I tried the email given by the counter staff that my call for help was received and arrangement for the roadside service made.
4. There was a minor miscommunication between Alamo and the roadside service provider with my contact number. Either Alamo had given a wrong contact number, or the service provider took down the number wrongly which resulted in much delay to the car tyre repair. I had to reschedule my itinerary for that day.
The service from Europcar at Basel airport was superb. We were a little concerned because we had been offer a higher spec- but automatic car, which took a bot of getting used to. Staff at Europcar showed how it should be driven which was helpful.
Over 2 weeks later and i am still waiting on my deposit being returned. i sent them an email 3 days ago but have not heard back even though they said they would reply in 24 hours

Upon return nobody was there to check the car. I left the car in the same condition as I picked it up. Two days later my card was changed over 2800 CHF. I had to follow up to find out that it was due to damage I made (!). I took 4 weeks to get the damage report from Budget. Apparently there were some body marks I three places on the van.
My booking was with a fully comprehensive insurance but when I took the car they said we don't know about your insurance and you have to pay €2000 as deposit. And until now I have not received my deposit back

Q1.What is an insurance excess?
The excess is the amount you'll only be liable for in case of damage(under Collision Damage Waiver) or theft(under Theft Protection) of the vehicle. Information about the excess will be clearly stated in the price inclusion when you reserve a car on QEEQ.
Q2. How can I add an addtional driver?
You are advised to make a request upon your arrival at the rental counter. Additional charge per day will incur unless '1 Additional Driver Included' is stipulated on the rental. Please note that the same licence and age requirement applys to the additonal driver. The addtional driver is supposed to present the required licence document along with the main driver at pickup.
Q3.What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car out of office hours?
QEEQ will show you the car offers available at your chosen time on the search results. However, pick-up or drop-off out of general opening hours may subject to an extra fee unless self-service pick-up or drop-off is available. After you reserve a car on QEEQ, we will inform you of specific policy of the car hire company by email.
Q4. Can I take the hired car to another country or cross border?
If you want to pick up your car in one country and drop it in another, your search results will show you cars you can do that with. If you're planning to cross any borders during your trip, bear in mind: 1. You may have to pay more. There are often extra fees, taxes or additional cover you'll pay at the car hire counter. 2.It may not be allowed. Depending on where you're hiring, you may not be able to take your car to another country. Please email us if you want to take your hire car into a different country during your trip, and we'll talk you through your options.
Q5. Can I pick up my car at one location and return it at different location?
Yes. You can pick up the vehicle in one place and drop it off in another. An ‘one-way fee’ will incur. Whether it is inclued in the rental price or what additional cost may arise will be clearly stated at the time of booking on QEEQ. Please inform the car hire company of your drop-off location when you pick up the vehicle or contact them directly during your trip. You will find a phone number on the rental agreement you signed at pickup.
