Thrifty will allow the vehicles to be taken to Bruny Island provided you pick up from certain branch. The pickup location I chose was 200 meters from the hotel. The staff was very friendly, and they had pre-copied the route map for picking up the car, so it was easy to find the vehicle.

The staff at the Melbourne branch had a great service attitude. Knowing we were heading to the city center, they drew us a route and recommended parking spots, and also provided a map for pickup and drop-off routes. However, when we went to the branch near Hyde Park in Sydney to file an accident report, the staff there were not very friendly and kept insisting that if we had bought their insurance, we wouldn't have had so many issues.
