The rental company tried to charge for old damages as if they were new, so it's important to take photos in advance. The car pickup process took a total of one hour, and there's an additional service fee for shuttle service.

Pretty good. The staff will pick you up at the airport. Buying insurance at the store seems to be cheaper than buying it here. There are detailed insurance descriptions on the table when registering information. I suggest buying insurance at the store. Additionally, there was a small incident where the rear window wiper fell off due to aging. I was worried there would be a compensation dispute, but the rental company kept apologizing once they found out.

As soon as I arrived at the airport, I spotted the pickup person. It was just a 10-minute drive to the car rental location. There were four counters handling the process, but the wait to pick up the car was quite long since they go over the insurance coverage details with everyone. Back home, I bought full coverage insurance on the platform, which was convenient and cost-effective. There were no issues during pickup or drop-off, the car was in good condition, and everything went smoothly.

The staff at the store simply asked if I needed extra insurance. I told him I already purchased one domestically, and without any hassle, he handed me the keys and I drove off! Before returning the car, I searched everywhere for a car wash but couldn't find one. I went to the store and asked, and they told me it wasn't necessary to wash it.

It's the same company as SIXT, with pick-up and drop-off at the same location. The car was in great condition, and in December, all cars are equipped with winter tires as required by local law, so no need to worry about that. Added a driver born after 2000 as an additional driver, and after including taxes and fees, the average cost was roughly 20 euros per day for 7 days. Maybe the 44.55-euro fee was because the second driver was young. For drivers older than 26, this fee might not apply. Just for your reference. After exiting the airport, take the door with the covered walkway. Follow the navigation to SIXT; it's about a 10-15 minute walk. There's a free shuttle bus, but I’m not sure which door to wait at.

Like: This company use older cars and price accordingly. We might not have had the smartest car in Iceland but we felt we had a good deal.
Dislike: The car was over 3 years old and had so many scratches, dents etc it was difficult to check them all. FLIZZR are part of SIXT. Although in Iceland there is a sign over the door we did not realise we were to use SIXT for the check in. This caused confusion. Check out took longer than other car hire firms.

The car was in an amazing condition, but the pickup process was so painful. Had to wait 45 minutes for the pickup at the airport to reach the Lava rental site and then another 90 minutes to pick up the car. Lava needs more staff to handle the demand.

Overall pretty good. The car's condition was decent, although it wasn't spotless like a brand-new vehicle. There were some scratches on the exterior and a few crumbs inside, but it was generally clean. The car drove well and handled both Highway 1 and interior routes without any issues. Service was also good, the staff were friendly, and the price was lower compared to Hertz and Europcar. The trade-off is that the pickup and drop-off location is outside the airport, requiring you to wait for a shuttle at the airport meeting point. The ride takes about five to eight minutes. So, if you're in a rush, like catching a flight, waiting for the shuttle might make you a bit anxious. Another thing is the counter service—there's never enough staff. While they are polite and relaxed, no matter how long the queue gets, they don’t seem to hurry. They stick to their schedule strictly, clocking out on time without staying longer to help clear a long line of waiting customers. Just a heads-up: if you are returning the car and have a flight to catch, make sure to leave plenty of buffer time. Keflavík Airport is often crowded, and the efficiency of manual check-in counters is low. Personally, I’d recommend arriving at least three hours early.

The service was excellent. The actual vehicle was provided by Ace Rent a Car, but the stores are together, so they seem to be jointly operated. On the fourth day, a small stone chipped the windshield, but the staff didn't ask for compensation when I returned the car! Great service! When refueling, avoid the gas station near the black sand beach in the South; the fuel there runs out quickly.

Overall pretty good. Remember to check what type of fuel the car uses; ours was diesel, so be careful not to fill it with the wrong fuel. Upon arrival, the company will say there's only basic insurance. Show them the document QEEQ prepared, or tell them that the car is insured by a domestic insurance company. The car was quite new and the system supports CarPlay. There isn't much else to mention except that I left my glasses in the car, and there's a small crack in the windshield. Be mindful of strong side winds and drive safely. Have a great journey!

On the last day, since our flight was early in the morning, the car rental company wasn't open yet. We returned the car to the company and booked a taxi to the airport. I accidentally left my speaker in the car, but after communicating with the rental company, they kindly shipped it back to the UK. The staff were very helpful!

The rental company is not at the airport, but the staff provides shuttle service. The rental and return process is simple, and there is no pressure to buy insurance. Because our companion's suitcase was large, the company immediately gave us a suitable car. Excellent service!

We waited a bit at the airport for the shuttle to arrive at pick up. Car was in good condition with all defects marked with stickers. It was a Hyundai i10 which took two 24 inch long suitcases in its boot. Fuel consumption was at about 5.7L/100km and it was quite sufficient for winter driving on highways and main roads.

Also, the car was quite old (around 60,000km) and had multiple bumps on all sides and a few broken interior elements - so was not too pleasant overall.

The office was shut on arrival and there were no instructions to call the number to make the pick up. If there had been clearer instructions we wouldn't have wasted an hour wondering around in the snow trying to work out if we were in the right place. Fantastic 4x4 car and great service once we'd been driven for 10 mins to office. We had to call the number to get picked up when arrived at Airport and taken to their office, which was not clear on the instructions.
