Great Service and Car but not Full to Full!

I've had to mark everything as 'Terrible' because, despite booking a VW Polo (automatic) or equivalent 9 months in advance of my arrival, no suitable car was available on the day. I was told that if I wanted an automatic car (which obviously I did as that's what I'd booked) I could either have a Smart car (wouldn't fit my luggage) or a Mercedes Vito (7 seater minibus). Obviously neither were suitable. I was told I'd have to wait until the next day for a suitable car - also not acceptable as my resort was a 1 hour drive from the airport. I was eventually offered a choice of 3 larger manual cars. Of course, I was forced to accept one - a battered up old Ford Focus. What a treat, thanks Keddy by Europcar. I don't drive a manual car at home so wasn't keen on doing so in a foreign country - hence I'd booked an auto. The company was not willing to compensate us financially as the Focus was in a higher bracket to a Polo. Hardly a benefit when you want a small car you can swing through the tight roads and park without fear. Needless to say I didn't get the use out of the car that I expected, as I wasn't comfortable driving it...

Car was scratched up all around, interior lights did not work, some doors handles hardly worked... altogether the vehicle was in a poor condition. But it did drive..

I was made to pay a hidden fee of 46 euros and I'm still waiting for my deposit to be returned after 4 days.

I asked the pick up/ return location Europcar staff if the car could be delivered to the place where I was staying and I was told that since I booked my car online I should speak with “the internet”. Poor customer service and bad approach.

When we picked up car had huge scrape down side. Was told not to worry it had already been noted. We then videoed the damage of the car before leaving airport. We go to return the car & lady tells us their is a huge scrape on the side of the car!! We showed her video she said ok... Unaccepetable. & we should have never been given a car with a huge scrape on it it need to be fixed before renting out.
