Great car, disappointing fees.

When I checked in I told the Hertz rep I would be a bit late dropping off the car and did I need to change the booking by 30 minutes. He said no, it was no problem and I didn't need to update the booking. My reservation ended at 1 pm and as indicated, I dropped the car at 1:25 pm. But when they emailed my receipt, they charged me $40 USD for one extra hour! Almost the same price as I paid for a whole day. Very dishonest given I asked in advance and could have amended the booking for a lower cost.

I could've gotten the Dodge Ram. I was too short getting out of the car. With no running board, I sprained my foot. The car was not that clean and to have only 9900 miles when I picked it up, it was pretty scratched and beat up. All in all, it was only an ok experience.

“Didn't seem like Herz locations are getting information from Easyrentcars for the pick-up.”

Despite the fact that I had a scheduled pick up at the Herz location in Walnut Creek, no one at this location was expecting me and they didn't have the car type I requested in my booking. They had to call another shop and their driver got me there. The whole process took 40mins!

“Don’t book with hertz”

Car (camaro) has mechanical issues (steering/wheel alignment issues and was overdue for service by 5,000miles) meaning it was dangerous when driving on motorways above 60mph. Swapped the car at Las Vegas the next day. No customer service. Didn’t have a replacement so had to go with a four door even though we had especially booked an American muscle car for our honeymoon. Very disappointed with hertz and wouldn’t bother booking a car with them again given lack of customer service. Had a much better and smoother experience with Dollar.
