Wide selection of new cars. However, both times they insisted on recommending I purchase a full tank of gas and roadside assistance. It's fine if it’s suitable, but even after I said no a couple of times, they still suggested it. Haha, not sure if it's really necessary.

The Los Angeles LAX location has VIP and regular areas. This was my first time renting from Hertz, and I was in the regular area. I was assisted by an older Caucasian man, which is unusual as most companies have South Asian individuals in customer service roles. The man was chatty and checked my insurance situation, then told me I didn't need to buy any additional insurance. I asked if I needed to wash the car before returning it, and he said 'just leave it dirty.' The car got quite dirty inside and out, and despite washing it twice, I couldn't get it completely clean. They didn't charge me for it afterwards. I was in a hurry to catch my flight when returning the car and miscalculated the fuel amount—it was just at the Full line. I felt a bit embarrassed, but they didn't charge me extra for that either. I would consider using Hertz again in the future.
