The reserved model was unavailable, so they provided a Toyota SUV. The vehicle was in good condition, and the car rental staff had a good attitude.

I didn't realize that Thrifty is a budget rental brand under Hertz. The Marseille train station rental area had signs for many rental companies, but none for Thrifty. After searching for a while, I found it under the Hertz name. The staff in charge of the rentals provided excellent service and gave us an amazing car—a 5-seater with a sunroof, GPS navigation, and a very spacious trunk. I seriously wondered if they gave us the wrong car.

The process was a bit slow, but that's just typical of the French.

Over 1.5 hour wait to pick up the loan car. Huge queues. Unexplained €60 fee on drop off. No explanation just "thank you all done" and handed a receipt. Did not notice the charge until I later checked.
