It was an excellent car but on pick up, there were scratches on all panels that were not picked up or marked on the collection sheet and the fuel was only 7/8s full so we wasted about 30-45 minutes going through to the garage to wait for our turn to be served to have all the scratches and marks indicated and then the fuel topped up

The car was in great condition. We rented a Golf, but the rental company upgraded us to a BMW 1 Series for free. When driving in France, it's important to use a chip-enabled credit card, otherwise you'll only be able to fill up at staffed gas stations, and you can't refuel after hours. Additionally, parking in indoor garages in France can be quite expensive, so be mindful of that.

Hertz were the worst rental experience I have ever had. They were terribly unorganised, rude, slow and had no idea how to handle the amount of people waiting for a car. We had no one check the car with us and many scratches and dents on the car. I will avoid hertz from now on!!!
