Finding the location was difficult via GPS. The google map link was inaccurate. Secondly, we waited 1.5 hours in line to even get to the counter where an unpleasant person helped us with the rental. It was just an awful experience and I will certainly think again if Surprice is offered. Also, I think I was the victim of bait and switch. I reserved a fiat 500L many months ago at a very low price but low behold, a month prior to my rental, I got an email saying that they couldn't offer me that car or honor that price for the same size car. The only car they would honor that price for would be a fiat 500 which is much too small for three men and luggage. I was forced to cancel the reservation and naturally the only offers at that time were much more expensive.

The car was new but the gear box had been clearly ragged about and reverse was easy to slip in to, few marks and scuffs but generally a good, large estate. The baby child seat that we paid over €50 for the week was useless. It was not secure using seatbelts and it was well used, it had no isofix base. The shuttle on collection did not have a car seat either and my baby had to sit on my knee. The pick up process was slow and painful. On both occasions (pick up and drop off) I heard many complaints about extra charges. We were also charged extra as the credit card was in my partner’s name and we had to add her as a driver, even though the t&c’s said if the cc was in the name of someone else, further ID may be required. Overall I think I will pay more in the future for collection at the airport, Surprice clearly need more staff and a smoother more streamlined pick up process.

The location is hard to find as it is hidden at tithe back of a large building housing two car dealerships and a gym in addition to the rental place. I waited 2hrs 43 mins for vehicle pick up. There were only 4 bookings/groups of people in front of me. No cars came in during this period (ie I appears the delay was all office/admin related). We were all standing outside the office in the open. There were 3 seats (tho I was able to sit on my suitcase). No water. No coffee. No A/C. The staff did not make eye contact once so it felt like we were invisible. The folk in front of me had travelled from Italy; those behind from Australia and we had travelled all night from Canada. One group had a newborn. When I asked if I could drop off a touch later than scheduled as I was getting the car late the service staff were INCREDIBLY rude. I did not speak again (except if asked a question or addressed) for fear of some form of retribution. The car I received was badly damaged with scratches and dents everywhere but the service lady marked them down collectively as “one area of damage”. The form she marked onto appeared too vague. When I asked for a copy she said “photograph if you want”. I photographed the damage itself. (Fortunately the gent at the drop off time was pleasant and I did not need the photos). The drop off fortunately was not a bad experience.

Excellent service

The car was brand new so it was in great shape! The only thing that was disappointing was that Surprice gave the car to us completely empty, it was registering 0 km range left. So unfortunately we were very stressed trying to make it to a gas station in time, as well as driving in a new country.
