The Europcar Interational terminal was understaffed causing a queue of customers who had to wait for a hour. We were sent to the Domestic terminal Europcar branch because QEEQ had booked the wrong terminal. The domestic terminal staff were very helpful, even staying after closing time to ensure we were served. They kindly gave us an upgrade because of all the trouble we had gone through being at the wrong terminal

The counter staff in both Wellington and Auckland were both friendly and helpful and were happy to answer all my questions

This booking platform was easy to use and their communication before each pick up was very good

We arrived to find the car we had booked wasn’t available They offered us an “upgrade” to a compact car or the 8 seat people mover we ended up with When asked about the car we booked we were told it wasn’t available and the only cars available were the compact and a couple of people movers. We ended up taking the people mover as we had two small girls with us The booster seats that I had emailed to confirm that they would be installed had to still be installed before we could go to the car It was a stressful start to our holiday and some people in line wouldn’t have been getting a car at all

I think it is important to give the car and receive it to check it is in good conditions before leave the place. But the staff didn't do that, so we needed to leave with a photograf register about car condition as well as when we wanted to return the car after our trip.
