Vreselijk niets is duidelijk

Very annoying up-selling of insurances and other services by Gold Car staff at Bordeaux airport.

Waited over an hour to pick up the car. When we got to the desk there were 5 customer service people on duty but one by one they left leaving only one person to deal with the last three customers. They clearly don't care.

It wasn't ACE but Goldcar. I felt like i was made to take out full insurance. There were dents around the car and the number plate looked like it has been badly damaged. It was not a pleasant experience. I will be using a proper hire car firm in future like Hertz.

The insurance options and fuel refill terms were complex. When I booked I didn't realise a diesel rental car has a tax in France

Terrible organisation. Looks cheap on the face of it but then they bully you into taking additional cover when you arrive. Had already paid for extra insurance on time of booking and was told this wasn't sufficient and was useless and was then charged an additional 176 euros on top of the £80 i'd already paid in additional cover. Would never use this company again.
