Excellent vehicle for a roadtrip

Like: The vehicle was almost brand new (only about 2,000 km driven) and had heaps of in-built comforts for the lowest category of car: camera for reversing, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, USB charger, estimated mileage report etc. It was easy to drive. The AVIS staff was very friendly. Since I hired the car for more than 4 days in New Zealand, I didn't have to pay a one-way fee because it was waived.

The Avis employee in charge was especially helpful. His name is Shon Middleton, and I want to thank him for outstanding customer service! He followed up with me to ensure that we found the car to our liking. That’s exceptional customer service!

The contract details with Avis were not as clear as with Hertz, and the on-site charges were higher than the online rates. In New Zealand, we used Hertz on the South Island and Avis on the North Island, and Hertz was definitely better.
