I rented a car at San Francisco Airport and returned it at Los Angeles Airport, for a total of 15 days. Due to my previous work trips to San Francisco, where I had to rent a car each time (my company uses AVIS), I am quite familiar with the whole process. This was my first time using Dollar. The staff was quite friendly. I added roadside assistance (7.99 USD/day) and a child seat (72 USD), which resulted in various taxes (which I didn't fully understand). I had reserved a Ford Escape, but was given a Chevrolet Captiva (2014 model) with about 7100 miles on it, so it was pretty new. To avoid any issues, I checked the car for scratches and found a light scratch near the front passenger door. I mentioned it to the staff at the small booth where I picked up the keys. They gave me a small piece of paper with car diagrams, and I marked the scratch location. The staff didn’t really check and just signed the paper. They told me to show it to the staff when returning the car. The Los Angeles return process was quick; the staff didn’t really inspect the car and told me it was fine when I showed them the marked paper. The whole return took about a minute. Overall, I drove over 1500 miles.

The staff I encountered in this location (e 22nd st, New York) were so nice and helpful.. we arrived an hour early to collect the car but it was ready for us without delay or any hassle. The lady’s at the reception desk were good fun and we most helpful when we collected it as were the staff on our return.
