Near Munich Central Station, the staff initially offered me a Renault, but after paying an extra 100 euros, I was upgraded to a brand new Audi A5 that just arrived this July. The ride was absolutely thrilling.

Our flight was supposed to arrive in Munich at 6:00 AM, and we had booked to pick up the car at 8:00 AM. The flight was an hour early. After a brief rest at the airport and shopping at the supermarket, we went to the counter at 7:30 to handle the car pick-up. A male staff member initially assisted, but said our reserved car type (Volkswagen Golf Estate or similar) was still in town and suggested an upgrade for €25/day. I declined, suspecting a sales tactic. He bluntly told us to wait and come back around 8:00-8:15. After 8:00, a female staff member assisted us, and after verifying our documents and credit card, she didn't hassle us since we had full insurance through the car rental company. Just as she was about to hand over the Volkswagen keys, she and a supervisor couldn't find the car's documents. They politely explained it was an internal issue and offered us a free upgrade to a Mazda. Waiting proved worthwhile!

Pickup was very convenient, but returning the car was confusing. The drop-off location was inside a multi-story garage with no visible counter. We had a hard time finding an attendant to return the car, and the next day received a call saying the car wasn't returned. Seems like there was a communication mishap.

During our self-drive trip in Germany, we had a minor accident with a broken rear window. EUROPCAR's local staff quickly handled the necessary paperwork and provided us with a new car in no time. This made the rest of our trip safe and enjoyable! Many thanks!

Tiresome when they say there is a small chip of 0.0001 mm but it's ok you will not be charged. It's annoying and condescending. I have this comment each time with Europcar and never with Hertz at the same location where I hire at least twice a month.
